About the Author

 

Greetings, traveller.

I am Professor Aldren of Valoria, Senior Professor of Ancient History at the Citadel and a lifelong student of the past.

For more than five decades I have studied the surviving records of our world's earliest ages, from sacred scriptures and temple archives to weathered inscriptions and forgotten manuscripts. Though much knowledge has been lost to time, enough remains to illuminate fragments of the story that came before us.

The purpose of these writings is not merely to recount legend, but to examine the evidence left behind by those who lived before us. Where the sources agree, I shall present their conclusions. Where they differ, I shall endeavour to explore each interpretation fairly and faithfully.

History is seldom as simple as tradition remembers, nor as certain as scholars might wish. Yet it is in pursuit of understanding that we honour those who came before us.

May these writings serve as a lantern against the darkness of forgotten ages.
